MINUTES OF ELTON PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE HIGHGATE HALL ON TUESDAY 16TH FEBRUARY 2010 AT 8.00 P.M.

3. Minutes of 19th January 2010
Cllr Truman proposed minutes agreed, all in favour.
4. Matters Arising from the Minutes of 19th January 2010

5. Finance/Authorisation of Payments
MHB Services Limited – Lighting Maint. 1.2.10 £46.02
Wendy Gray, Parish Clerk, Wages & Exp. Jan/Feb 10 £210.62
Cllr Truman proposed above payments were made, all in favour.
6. Highways
Nothing new to report
7. Trees
Trees in Back Lane – notice to resident(s) that Highways will arrange for removal of said trees week commencing 22nd February.
8. Planning
1000135FUL – Proposed pitched roof to replace existing flat roof and install new windows, Wedgegate House, Back Lane, Elton – no objections raised.
9. Greens & Verges
Quotation received – Cllr Burgess and Cllr Kirk will measure up exact area to be repaired and liaise with Clerk for work to commence.
Cllr Truman had received report of damage to verge on entrance to Mill on Stocks Green – could something be done to stop parking which is causing damage.
At this point of the meeting Cllr Truman welcomed Lynda Porter to the meeting and asked her to brief the Parish Council on the Parish Path Partnership. Lynda explained what work she had done to date and what plans were for the forthcoming year. Lynda asked if the Parish Council would write to John Cooper expressing thanks for all the help he has been in being able to identify Parish Paths. Lynda has produced a report which will be forwarded to HDC together with application for a further grant (if we are successful).

Kerbside Glass Recycling – new facilities and improvements
11. Reports from Councillors
Cllr Burgess – fly tipping again in man made laybys – could a request be made to Highways for posts to be installed to prevent parking.
Cllr Rankmore – Derek Harris is arranging another Litter Pick – last year the Parish Council sponsored Burgers – will they do again this year. A vote was taken and the decision was that unfortunately the Parish Council would not sponsor this year. Parish Clerk to write to Mr Harris with the Parish Council’s decision.
Cllr Burgess reported that some residents of Haddon had attended meeting of sites being proposed for Gypsy’s. Unfortunately no-one was able to attend from Elton Parish Council and the Clerk had requested written documentation to be sent in due course.
