MINUTES OF ELTON PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE HIGHGATE HALL ON TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2009 AT 8.00 P.M.

Proposed minutes agreed Cllr Truman, seconded Cllr Kirk, all in favour.

4. Matters Arising from the Minutes of 28th July 2009
Landfill Site, Kings Cliffe – date has been extended. Parish Clerk to ascertain date of deadline and advise councillors.

5. Finance/Authorisation of Payments
MHB Services – Lighting Maint – August 2009 (already done) £45.05
MHB Services – Lighting Maint – Sept 2009 £45.05

Lambe’s Lawnmowers – Labour charge £23.00

All above invoices agreed for payment – proposed Cllr Rankmore, seconded Cllr Shrive, all in favour.

Comparison against what was spent this time last year template to be sent to Cllr Rankmore before next meeting.

6. Highways
Parish Clerk to speak with CCC re date for completion of works on Overend.
Parish Clerk to ascertain when Camera on A605 will be repaired and also enquire
about extra White Posts in School Lane

7. Trees
Cherry Trees, Back Lane -Parish Clerk to contact residents/resident and establish date for removal of trees and report back to Richard Kingston at CCC.

8. Planning
Revised planning application for Crown Inn discussed – further clarification to be sought, Parish Council not able to support at this time. Letter to be drafted with our response (circulate to Councillors) before sending.

9. Street Lighting
No longer an agenda item – all outages to be reported to Parish Clerk.

10. Greens & Verges
Cllr Kirk and Parish Clerk to meet with contractor.
Elton Society made request to place Christmas Tree on Stocks Green over the yuletide period. All Councillors in agreement.
Letter from Mrs Moore re verge adjacent to her property The Gables which runs down Middle Street. Since removal of trees becoming overgrown. Parish Clerk to contact Highways to ask for assistance. Unfortunately Parish Council does not have a budget for this work.

11. Correspondence
Bus Route 24 – The Parish Council sympathises with residents but unfortunately
previous dealings with the Bus Company have been less than fruitful. A suggestion
was made to ascertain from local GP’s surgery if this was a service they could
provide.

Ageing Well in Huntingdonshire – Parish Clerk to complete survey.

13. Reports from Councillors
Parish Clerk advised that at long last the Telephone Kiosk has been repainted.
